VBS in Lee’s Summit, MO - 2025 Vacation Bible School

Looking for a fun week of family activities this summer? We're inviting families to join us for FREE FAMILY Vacation Bible School (VBS), where your child (infant through 5th grade, as of fall 2025) will embark on an exciting adventure of fun, friendship, and discovering how to trust Jesus in a wild world.

But that's not all—parents, we’ve got YOU covered too! While your kids are engaging in activities, making friends, and growing in their faith, you'll be part of exclusive parent sessions designed to empower you to lead your family in their spiritual journey. From leading your child’s in their faith to teaching biblical financial wisdom, these sessions will equip you with the tools to guide your family toward Jesus–their “True North.”

Note: At least one parent is required to stay onsite each night and actively participate in the parent sessions—no drop-offs allowed.

What To Expect At VBS At Lee’s Summit Community Church

Kids will be guided on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where northern lights glow over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and glistening glaciers. As kids trek the tundra, they’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus, True North VBS shows them that he is a faithful friend we can always trust. He’s our True North!

Each day of VBS

Kids will:

  • Learn scripture and how to apply it to their lives

  • Experience faith-building activities together

  • Worship through energetic song and dance

  • Gain knowledge about how they can practically share good news with families in Lee's Summit

  • Meet new friends

  • More!

Parents will:

  • Participate with their family in worship

  • Engage in informational parent forums focused on discipling your kids, teaching kids good stewardship, and more as you guide your family to Jesus - their "True North"!

  • Meet other parents

Arrive a few minutes early to check your family in at our registration station in the main lobby. Then head upstairs together to the Worship Center where our VBS Worship Team will lead families in worship through song, and we’ll be introduced to our Bible story and theme for the night.

During a 10 minute intermission, children, ages infant through PreK, may be dropped off in Early Childhood in their assigned classroom. Children going into grades K-5th this fall will remain in the Worship Center and will join their assigned VBS Crew small group.  Your child’s small group will be led by background-checked, friendly leaders who stay with the group the entire evening. Parents must sign each child in with the group leader at drop off and pick up.

While kids are participating in a more traditional VBS experience, parents will meet in the Student Center where we’ll hear from guest speakers including Mike & Becky Qualls, Chris & Kim Thiele and others who will help equip parents in the areas of building bridges of relationships, intentional discipleship in the home, budgeting as a family, and teaching kids about money & stewardship. Each evening will conclude upstairs in the Worship Center where families will reunite to recap the evening together.
